Somewhere Between Walking and Sleeping
Last Friday night the Dark Horse Experiment Gallery said a big, cheery hello to 2015 at the opening of the first show of the year, 'Somewhere Between Walking and Sleeping'. The exhibition, held in partnership with Melbourne's MIDSUMMA festival featured works from four artists spanning across a variety of mediums.
LUCIA MOCNAY
Eddie Botha's colourful collages were popular pieces as they succeeded in depicting serious issues in a light hearted and humorous way, Marcomatic exhibited a series of highly detailed and intricate pencil drawings, Caragh Brooks contributed her colourful sculptures of friends touching on issues such as our dependence on technology while Lucia Mocnay's decadently presented (and ethically sourced) taxidermy animals added a touch fantasy to the night.
It was great to see all the old familiar faces as well as welcoming along a lot of new ones! The show will run until the 7th of February so if you missed out on the opening there is still time to be a part of the MIDSUMMA fun.
